Windsor Castle

Windsor is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and the Official Residence of Her Majesty the Queen, with a rich history spanning almost 1,000 years. The Castle covers an area of about 5 hectares (13 acres) and contains magnificent State Apartments furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection, St George's Chapel (one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and the burial place of 10 monarchs), and Queen Mary's Dolls House, a miniature masterpiece.

Virginia Water

First dammed and flooded in 1753, Virginia Water was, until the creation of the great reservoirs, the largest man-made body of water in the British Isles. The woodlands surrounding the lake have been continuously planted since the middle of the eighteenth century, and The Frost Farm Plantation, at the south-western end of the lake, is a designated SSI (Site of Special Interest) thanks to its maturity and biodiversity.

Historic Windsor and Eton

The region is rich in history, with Windsor castle belonging continuously to the sovereigns of England since the days of the Norman Conquest over 900 years ago. Take a trip back in time with an exploration of the area's wide array of important historical sites.

Thorpe Park

Extreme adventure awaits at Thorpe Park as you tackle the loops, spins, vertical drops and incredible speeds of some of the country's most amazing rollercoasters, including Brave Stealth – Europe's fastest rollercoaster – for super acceleration of 0 to 80mph in under two seconds!

Windsor Races

Experience the unique blend of royal heritage and intimate atmosphere that is Royal Windsor Racecourse. The first race meeting was held at Royal Windsor in 1866, and has played host to 'the sport of Kings' (and Queens) ever since. With Monday night racing in summer and an action-packed calendar of racing, it's the perfect place to take a punt.

Equestrian Events

Fans of dressage, show jumping and eventing will find plenty on the calendar in Windsor to spark their interest. The Royal Windsor Horse Show is first outdoor equestrian show of the season, followed by events at the Windsor Park Equestrian Club.

Triathlons, Marathons and Swimming Events

For guests who love a sporting challenge, the Windsor region offers a wide variety of events to test their skill. The Windsor Triathlon is held in summer each year and attracts a competitive field, while the Human Race stages a regular programme of Triathlons, Marathons and Aquathlons throughout the year.

Egham Royal Show

The weekend event is held during the summer and features children's rides and entertainment, music, horticultural and craft stalls. The 2009 Show played host to a Real Ale and Cider festival, gourmet food stalls, a steam engine display and a classic car display.

Wentworth Golf Club

Wentworth Golf Club is famous for its Championship golf and three outstanding courses, and a world-class Tennis & Health Club. The Club has an illustrious tournament pedigree, including hosting the BMW PGA Championship each year.
